Moving People
1998-present (US WL) ยท US
Also known as Moving Bodies, Puppets
Two performers play a scene but cannot move themselves; audience volunteers stand behind them and physically push, lift, and pose their bodies through the entire scene.
Known for
- A Whose Line game in which performers must justify every position the volunteers put them in, however awkward.
- Comedy comes from the mismatch between the dialogue and the contorted positions imposed by amateurs.
- Performers go limp and surrender control, an inversion of normal physical-offer rules.
- A guest-participation staple of the US revival, usually with two audience members on stage.
