Rhythmic Scene
A musical-improv scene played entirely over an MD's groove — dialogue finds the pocket of the rhythm, not the other way around.
Known for
- Distinct from a song: there's no sung melody, just spoken dialogue that breathes with the MD's pulse.
- Trains actors to listen to music as scene partner — a dropped beat means the MD is cueing something.
- Used heavily in Baby Wants Candy and Musical Megawatt as a form-agnostic tool.
